Alex Moghaddam graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in 1988 and has since then represented large, medium-sized and small business clients, as well as individuals, in both federal and state courts in California. His clients have been domestic and foreign companies in the manufacturing, maritime, energy, insurance, transportation/logistics, entertainment, and financial industries. A number of Alex’s cases have resulted in published federal court decisions, both District Court and Ninth Circuit decisions. He has published numerous articles in the areas of general business litigation, transportation litigation, and entertainment matters.
Alex’s general business litigation practice has covered a range of contracts over the past twenty-six years – from manufacturing agreements to entertainment contracts to employment agreements. He has litigated cases involving the liabilities of corporate officers for business torts, breach of manufacturing and supply agreements, employment matters, trade secret disputes, and insurance coverage matters, among others.
Alex’s international practice has included the representation of numerous clients, both foreign and U.S., in various international business disputes and transactions. Through this experience, he has developed an extensive network of attorneys around the world on whom he can call for advice or legal action in local courts.
Alex’s shipping and transportation practice has consisted primarily of representing ocean carriers, marine terminals, freight forwarders, brokers, and NVOCCs in general transportation/maritime matters, cargo damage/loss cases, pollution matters, and insurance coverage matters. He has also advised clients regarding a wide array of transportation-related agreements, including bills of lading, broker-carrier agreements, warehouse agreements, terminal services agreements, and charter parties.
Alex has also advised major film studios and film production companies in connection with maritime legal issues arising from filming in U.S. and international waters.
In his free time, Alex likes to sail and watch his dog enjoy the life he hopes to have in his next life!
